Remove and replace the HWY 42 bridge over the James River.
summary of the project
During the winter months while the water levels were low the existing bridge was removed and replaced with 2 abutments and 5 piers. Each pier was 45’ tall and constructed in a 35’ deep coffer cell. The pier bents were H-Pile founded with spread footings. This 6 span bridge utilized a Minnesota Type 45 Concrete Girder.
