Remove and replace the existing abutment and add 2 spans to the existing bridge over the Elkhorn River.
summary of the project
Recent floods washed away the bridge approach grade and damaged the existing abutment. Kea’s duties were to repair the existing abutment by turning it into a pier and extending the bridge in length by 2 more spans. The 2 span extension consisted of a new bent style pier and abutment. The superstructure was an IT Girder and cast-in-place deck.
